The Department of Energy Energy and Climate Change is in the process of conducting a Strategic Environmental Assessment of a leasing plan for wave, tidal and offshore wind devices off the coast of England and Wales.
The DECC has published the Offshore Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment and arranged a public consultation period ending on 26th April.
The report considers any implications of the SEA, which covers some parts of the UK Exclusive Economic Zone and the territorial waters of England and Wales.
With the SEA in place, the UK Government has more in-depth information when it comes to decision making on tidal and wind concerns.
