He holds an MSc in Marine & Mechanical Engineering and currently sits on an advisory board with DECC. Bob is Managing Director of Eco Innovate Ltd, a company engaged in the development of de-skilling components for the renewable heating industry.
Pete Stubbs B.A. (Hons)
Pete Stubbs is an entrepreneur and the CEO of 2am, a brand-focused creative design agency. He has created and developed brand strategies for the NHS and a range of educational establishments, as well as being involved extensively with the creative direction of Inspired Energy PLC. Born and bred in Fleetwood, Pete has a vested interest in the success and improvement of the area.
David Grundy BSc (Hons), ACA
David Grundy is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of expertise in corporate finance, including finance raising and IPOs. After a long career with Grant Thornton, most latterly as Managing Partner for their NW region, he now owns and runs his own financial consultancy business, has interests in a number of private businesses, and sits as a NED on wo AIM-listed businesses.
Andrew Henderson M.A. (Hons)
Andrew Henderson is the Managing Director of Wychwood Consulting Ltd, a strategic and technical consultancy service in the energy and cyber security sectors. Andrew has a wealth of government experience in energy and telecommunications, and is a proven leader. Andrew is also a member of the Parliamentary Group for Energy Studies.
David Evans M.A., MSc
David Evans has utilised his 40 years in the construction industry to build David Evans Ltd., a successful independent consultancy. David has extensive global experience working on multi-disciplinary projects, holding positions that encompassed carrying out project appraisals, co-ordinating engineering designs, controlling finances and incorporating traditional routes to project implementation, fast-tracking and design-and-build construction.

Professor George A. Aggidis BEng(Hons), MSc, PhD, CEng, CMarEng, Eur Ing, MASME, FIMarEST, FEI, FIMechE, FIET, Board Member of the IMechE Fluid Machinery Group, is Professor of Energy Engineering at Lancaster University, UK, and Director of Lancaster University Renewable Energy Group & Fluid Machinery Group. His previous career included 25 years’ industrial and academic experience, of which nine years were spent abroad.
He started his engineering career with Mather & Platt Ltd, Manchester, UK, followed by appointments both in the UK and abroad. His final position in industry was Director and Engineering Development Manager for the Fluid Machinery, and Hydropower UK company, Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon Ltd.
He has over 150 research papers, designs, developments and 12 patent contributions in the field of fluid machinery and renewable energy, developed turbines for hydro power generation projects and has physical research prototypes of fluid machinery operating successfully worldwide.
He has a strong focus on engineering science applied to industry-led requirements in renewable energy and fluid machinery. His main research area is in computational and experimental modelling, control and the economics of novel fluid machinery applied to energy and renewables, including wave, tidal and hydro power.
David Bates BA (Hons) FRGS
David Bates is a financial expert who has for 20 years focussed on investments in Asia before specialised in environmental finance since 2004. He was the Chief Investment Officer for a renewable energy fund and a founding director of CarbonDesk plc. David as CEO of Carbon Trading Limited which concentrates on renewable energy projects across the world though recently he has focussed on renewable energy and regeneration projects in the UK.
Captain David Eccles
Captain David Eccles is a highly skilled mariner, with more than 11 years’ experience as Master for P&O and six years’ experience as Senior Master with Stena Line. Operating mainly out of Fleetwood, he has a vast knowledge of the river—something he has developed over 20 years on the crew at RNLI Fleetwood and a further five years as Lifeboat Operations Manager.
He is now an active director of consultancy company Heron Marine, and a part time lecturer at Blackpool and The Fylde College.
